Core return plays a vital part of the remanufacturing supply chain. It involves the collection, sorting, remanufacturing, and redistribution of used parts  giving them a second life. 

 

Returning Core in Four Simple Steps 

To make the core return process as efficient as possible for distributors, Valeo has developed a streamlined system, designed to be simple, flexible, and user-friendly. 

In four simple steps:

1. Cores being returned should meet Valeo’s specified conditions by referring to the core acceptance criteria documentation.
2. The return form should be filled in and emailed to a Valeo Customer Service representative.
3. Pallets should be prepared to be picked up within 3 days by a Valeo designated carrier.
4. A sorting report and corresponding credit note will typically be received within 4 weeks of collection.

• Clear return guidelines have been shared with garages and distributors to help them easily identify suitable cores before returning them.

• Since January 2024, Valeo has shortened turnaround time, issuing credit notes and sorting reports within 4 weeks instead of 5 weeks.
