100 New References of Valeo E-Performance Brake Pads

Valeo is accelerating its commitment to sustainable and smarter mobility with a major extension of its E-Performance brake pad range.&nbsp;

Specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of electrified vehicles, this brake pad range extension adds 100 new references to the European aftermarket.The new references include some of the market’s most popular models: Citroën C4 III Hybrid, Citroën ë-Berlingo, Jeep Avenger 1.2 Hybrid, Peugeot e-Rifter and Renault Twingo III Electric.With a total of 326 references, Valeo achieves 93% coverage of the electrified European car parc and reaches an additional 4.4 million electrified vehicles across Europe. &nbsp;

A Major Range Extension for the EV Aftermarket

This launch is fully aligned with Valeo’s RED strategy, which focuses on three pillars:&nbsp;<ul><li>R for Reman: leveraging over 40 years of expertise and one of the widest portfolios of remanufactured products.&nbsp;</li><li>E for EV: building on Valeo’s leadership in electrified solutions, with one in three new cars worldwide equipped with Valeo technologies.&nbsp;</li><li>D for Dragon: supported by 30 years of O.E. excellence in China, positioning Valeo as a leading aftermarket partner with more than 2,500 part numbers. &nbsp;</li></ul>

Aligned with Valeo’s RED Strategy

Electrified powertrains fundamentally change braking dynamics. The absence of engine noise makes any squeak or vibration immediately noticeable. Vehicle mass is higher due to battery packs and regenerative braking changes how pads interact with discs. Valeo E-Performance pads are engineered around three pillars to address these challenges: &nbsp;<ul><li>Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) control: A multi-layer acoustic barrier delivers exceptional noise suppression, combining soft friction material, a thermosetting resin layer, and high-performance shims. In rigorous dynamometer testing, Valeo E-Performance achieved 97.8% of stops under 70 dB (AK Noise SAE J2521, Nissan Leaf front axle, 1,500 brake applications).&nbsp;</li><li>Braking performance: Adapted friction formulations handle the weight and power demands of electrified vehicles, while enhanced thermal management prevents brake fade. A testing under the AK Master SAE J2522 protocol demonstrated efficiency equal to or better than OE components.&nbsp;</li><li>Durability: Because regenerative braking reduces how often pads are physically engaged, standard materials can suffer from corrosion, glazing, or delamination. Valeo’s high-resistance formulation delivers twice the lifespan with significantly less brake dust, while a mechanical retaining technology locks the friction material in place, virtually eliminating delamination risk.</li></ul>

Tailor-Made Engineering for Electrified Vehicles

All references come as a fully equipped kit with all necessary accessories included. With this expansion, Valeo Service reinforces its position as the leading partner for workshops navigating the growing wave of vehicle electrification. <div><div><h2>A New Recognition&nbsp;</h2>Partslife is a German organization dedicated to promoting legally compliant waste management, recycling, and environmental services across the automotive aftermarket. The award was presented during the Partslife Congress in Vienna on 23 June 2026. This recognition highlights Valeo’s ongoing commitment to expanding its remanufacturing activities and extending reman solutions to increasingly advanced technologies. Both awarded products are part of Valeo’s <a href="https://www.valeoservice.com/en-com/i-care-planet">I Care for the Planet</a> program, which brings together all initiatives aimed at progressively reducing the environmental impact of its aftermarket activities. Remanufacturing is a key pillar of Valeo’s circular economy strategy.<h2> Bringing Reman to Automatic Transmissions</h2>The award-winning Valeo remanufactured dual wet clutch was specifically developed to address a major challenge in the automatic transmission market. It was initially launched for the DQ250 gearbox, which is installed in around five million vehicles across Europe, including 1.2 million vehicles on German roads alone. Until now, when the original clutch failed, workshops and vehicle owners had no alternative but to purchase a brand-new replacement part costing more than €600, excluding labor. Valeo’s reman solution directly addresses this issue, offering workshops and end users an average cost reduction of 25% compared with a new part. What makes this achievement an even greater technical milestone is that Valeo reverse-engineered a non-Valeo technology, developing a restoration process for a highly complex system it did not originally design<h2> Combining Performance with a Lower Environmental Impact&nbsp;</h2>The remanufactured dual wet clutch delivers the same quality and performance as a new OE part while offering a lower environmental impact. Weighing almost 10 kilograms, the clutch enables Valeo to recover and reuse around 90% of its original mass. By recovering valuable materials such as aluminium, steel, and copper, remanufacturing helps preserve natural resources, reduce waste, and support a more circular economy.<h2> Supporting the Circular Economy&nbsp;</h2>The remanufactured dual wet clutch illustrates how remanufacturing is evolving to meet the needs of modern vehicles. Historically associated with simpler products, remanufacturing is now becoming a viable solution for increasingly advanced technologies. This innovation also reinforces Valeo's commitment to expanding its remanufacturing activities and extending reman solutions to increasingly advanced technologies.&nbsp;<h2> Promoting the Circular Economy Along the Value Chain</h2>Unlike manufacturing new parts from scratch, remanufacturing relies entirely on reverse logistics. To keep this circular offer available for the automatic transmission market, the loop must be closed through the recovery and return of used parts, known as cores. Transmission specialists, traditional wholesalers, and workshops all have a vital role to play. By working together, these aftermarket stakeholders can accelerate the adoption of remanufacturing, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to a more circular automotive aftermarket.</div></div>

Valeo Reman: “As Good as New, Good for Your Budget, Good for the Planet!”

Why discard old car parts when they can be given a second life? This is the principle behind Valeo’s Reman offer.

Why discard old car parts when they can be given a second life? This is the principle behind Valeo’s Reman offer.

<h2>Driving Sustainability with Reman</h2>
Valeo’s Reman offer operates on the principle of the circular economy, a core pillar of "<a href="/en-com/i-care-planet">I Care 4 the Planet</a>," Valeo's sustainability program aimed at reducing the environmental impact of its aftermarket activities.

<h2>A Comprehensive and Powerful Reman Product Range</h2>
With over 6,000 remanufactured parts, Valeo offers an extensive portfolio, focusing on four major product categories: starters/alternators, brake calipers, A/C compressors and clutches for Commercial Vehicles.
These parts are remanufactured at Valeo facilities across Europe, with the main hub in Czechowice, Poland.

<h2>As Good as New</h2>
With Valeo Reman, customers can exchange used parts for fully remanufactured ones that perform like new.
Every part undergoes a rigorous process, including disassembly, cleaning, repair or replacement, reassembly, and testing.
Backed by the same warranty as new parts, Valeo Reman products deliver reliable performance without compromise.

<h2>Good for the Planet</h2>
Remanufacturing is a more sustainable alternative to traditional manufacturing. Valeo’s Reman process saves up to 80%* in raw materials and reduces CO2 emissions by up to 80%* compared to producing new parts.
By choosing remanufactured products, customers contribute to the circular economy, where end-of-life components are reintroduced into the supply chain.
This reduces the need to extract new natural resources and helps minimize landfill waste, creating a significant environmental benefit.
* according to Valeo’s internal estimations

<h2>Good for Your Budget</h2>
Valeo Reman provides a cost-effective solution without sacrificing quality. By reusing materials, Valeo Reman parts are typically more affordable than the equivalent new Valeo parts. Both consumers and workshops benefit from significant savings, making remanufactured parts a smart, sustainable alternative to buying new parts.

<h2>Simple Core Deposit System</h2>
Valeo’s core deposit system ensures a smooth and transparent return process.
This is supported by a deposit system: a surcharge is added to the purchase price, which is refundable once the core is returned.
Customers return eligible used parts, receive a clear refund per part type, and are reimbursed within 72** hours.
This streamlined approach guarantees the continuous availability of cores needed to sustain the remanufacturing process—because no cores mean no reman.  By keeping materials in circulation, this model embodies the principles of the circular economy, reducing waste and conserving resources for a more sustainable future.

Today, retrofitting with Valeo’s electrification components is a great solution for extending a vehicle’s lifespan and accelerating the global transition towards electric mobility.

Today, retrofitting with Valeo’s electrification components is a great solution for extending a vehicle’s lifespan and accelerating the global transition towards electric mobility.

<h2>Retrofitting for the Planet</h2>
Retrofitting transforms an I.C.E. vehicle into an electric one by replacing the petrol/diesel engine and fuel tank with an electric motor and battery.

Valeo's '<a href="/en-com/i-care-planet">I Care for the Planet</a>' program aims to reduce the environmental impact of the automotive aftermarket. Thanks to its parts for EV, Valeo contributes to making the switch to electric vehicles easier.

<h2>Regulations to Restrictions</h2>
Around the world, regulations for emissions have become increasingly severe, and major cities are implementing low-emission zones — and sometimes even outright diesel bans — to combat air pollution and meet climate targets.

Since most light commercial vehicles (LCVs) run on diesel, the ban on entry into cities has a direct impact on many businesses. In order to continue operating, LCV drivers, fleet owners, and small businesses are required to urgently switch to electric vehicles. Since buying new electric vehicles is expensive, retrofit is the perfect alternative.

<h2>A Solution is at Hand</h2>
To help businesses survive in the city, Valeo, a leading automotive supplier in Electrification, offers a range of products and solutions for electric vehicles (EVs) that can also be used for retrofitting conventional vehicles into EVs:

<ul><li>e-motors</li>
	<li>OBC DCDC</li>
	<li>Inverters</li>
	<li>HV heaters</li>
	<li>Electric driven compressors (EDC)</li>
</ul>
These components can all be integrated into retrofit projects and help convert Internal Combustion Engine (I.C.E.) LCVs into electric ones.

<h2>Benefits of Retrofitting</h2>
<ul><li>Economics: The cost saving of converting existing vehicles into electric vehicles is estimated to be about 50% the cost of buying a new eLCV*. Not only is buying new electric LCVs expensive, there are also few electric options available.</li>
</ul>
<ul><li>Environment: Beyond the economic considerations, retrofitting also contributes to automotive decarbonization. Retrofitting LCVs saves at least 50% CO2 emissions over 10 years*. And by not scrapping the vehicle, retrofitting also contributes to the circular economy.</li>
</ul>
<ul><li>Government Support: In recognition of how retrofitting can be important in transitioning to cleaner transportation, governments are increasingly offering incentives and support programs to facilitate retrofitting. What’s more, some governments, like France, are gradually reducing subsidies for buying new electric vehicles, which further enhances the economic appeal of retrofitting. </li>
</ul>

Electric Retrofit the Valeo Way!

We at Valeo know the automotive industry has a huge role to play in creating a sustainable future – and that the aftermarket cannot be an afterthought.

We at Valeo know the automotive industry has a huge role to play in creating a sustainable future – and that the aftermarket cannot be an afterthought.

<h2>We can do our part!</h2>
As part of its commitment to tackle ongoing environmental challenges, Valeo’s Aftermarket division has created the <a href="/en-com/i-care-planet">I Care 4 the Planet</a> program focusing on three areas to reduce its environmental impact:
<ul><li>Contribute to limit CO2 emissions with automotive decarbonization and process optimisation</li>
	<li>Promote circular economy with reman and repair (waste management)</li>
	<li>Innovate with Eco-design</li>
</ul>
<h2>Three Key Areas of Focus</h2>
Valeo’s <a href="/en-com/i-care-planet">I Care 4 the Planet</a> program aims to reduce environmental impact in three key areas:
<ul><li>Products</li>
	<li>Packaging</li>
	<li>Transportation</li>
</ul>
<h2>Products</h2>
<h4>Eco-Design</h4>
With an innovative eco-design, <a href="/en-com/valeo-canopy">Valeo CanopyTM</a> wiper blades put the environment first, by using a rubber made of more 80% of natural, renewable, or recycled materials and an amazing -61% lower carbon footprint*, validated with a life cycle analysis verified by Bureau Veritas.

<h4>Resource preservation</h4>
Reman and Repair are an excellent way to give a second life to used products. Valeo currently remanufactures around 1 million parts each year.

<h4>Electrification</h4>
As EV is undoubtedly the future of the automotive industry, Valeo progressively increases its portfolio of EV spare parts, Ineez charging solutions, and Retrofit solutions.
<h2> </h2>
<h2>Packaging</h2>
<h4>Reduce </h4>
To minimize environmental impact, Valeo is aiming to avoid excessive use of materials and reduce single use plastics.

<h4>Optimize</h4>
Reuse packaging and pallets are favored to optimize resources.

<h4>Recycle</h4>
Packaging solutions must be designed to be easily recycled
<h2> </h2>
<h2>Transportation &amp; Logistics</h2>
As important as sustainable materials are, Valeo’s direct delivery and optimisation flow of logistics (road/train/sea) is key to future environmental success.
By creating efficient processes—direct from the factory to customers—Valeo hopes to reverse as much of the negative environmental impact of transportation as possible.
<h2> </h2>
<h2>Together We Can Foster a More Sustainable Aftermarket</h2>
No single company can create a sustainable industry alone, therefore, Valeo is encouraging all of its aftermarket partners to promote positive changes that benefit a more sustainable automotive aftermarket.

“I Care 4 The Planet”: Valeo’s aftermarket sustainability program

From 1st of January, 2024, Valeo is implementing its core deposit scheme for Reman CV Clutch Kits in Europe.

From 1st of January, 2024, Valeo is implementing its core deposit scheme for Reman CV Clutch Kits in Europe.

<h2>A New Year’s Resolution</h2>
In the EU, where heavy duty commercial vehicles account for almost 80% of land freight transport – equal to almost 25% of the transport sector’s CO2 emissions – it’s more important than ever to find ways to cut waste and emissions.
From 1st of January, 2024, Valeo is implementing its core deposit scheme for Reman CV Clutch Kits in Europe. This comes as part of Valeo’s wider goal of accelerating the circular economy and thereby consuming as few new raw materials as possible.
<blockquote>
As Christophe Perillat, Valeo’s CEO, has said, “Decarbonization mobility must go hand in hand with greater circularity and resources preservation.”
</blockquote>
Fully optimizing the consumption of resources is an automotive aim in which Valeo is not alone. The whole road freight industry, from manufacturers to haulers, is committed to a more sustainable transport system.
Remanufacturing is one of the central pillars of Valeo’s 4R strategy, along with Recycle, Repair, and Robust design. It is also an integral part of Valeo’s multifaceted approach to sustainability: I Care 4 the Planet.
The core deposit scheme falls into both sustainability approaches and has simplicity at its core. The aim is to recover as many CV clutch kit cores from the market as possible in order to fuel Valeo’s remanufacturing production lines.
In a nutshell, the core deposit is a simple circular exchange system:
<img alt="circular exchange system" class="ck-responsive-img align-center" data-entity-type="file" data-entity-uuid="c5e34018-8e5d-4803-bb7c-553df3ff4cfc" loading="lazy" src="https://staging.assets.web4u.valeoservice.systems/d8/prod/s3fs-public/inline-images/body1-CV-Clutch-Cores-Scheme.png" width="317" height="289" />
Valeo’s CV core deposit system has been made to be simply understood, with only 3 core bands (T, U, V) and 2 different costs (100€ or 200€), as in the table below:
<img alt="core deposit system" class="ck-responsive-img align-center" data-entity-type="file" data-entity-uuid="6eba01b4-ca40-4792-b5b1-ffdfb6723710" loading="lazy" src="https://staging.assets.web4u.valeoservice.systems/d8/prod/s3fs-public/inline-images/body2-CV-Clutch-Cores-Scheme.png" width="965" height="462" /><h2>
Reverse Logistics System</h2>
Using a reverse logistics system that is quick and seamless, Valeo makes things easy for distributors, with a quick four week turnaround from collection pick-up to sorting report.
All that workshops need to do once the repair is completed is recover the cores, place them in the Valeo box, and then send them back to the distributor. The distributor stores them in a safe and dry place while Valeo ensures the reverse logistics from the collection of the cores to the deposit refund for all accepted cores.
<h2>
Putting Down a Deposit on Our Future</h2>
To get the ball rolling along the distribution chain, Valeo is implementing an extensive support plan, augmented by a massive promotional programme during the first semester of 2024.
<h2>
As Good As New</h2>
It truly can’t be overstated – reman CV clutches are AS GOOD AS NEW and have the same functional characteristics as new clutches. This is the reason they are offered with the very same 2-year warranty and unlimited mileage anywhere in Europe.
The very PROCESS of reman drives sustainability and the circular economy by decarbonising the CV Aftermarket while preserving resources. And come 2024, Valeo’s CV core deposit scheme will do just that!
Using a cleaner industrial process with less CO2 emissions, Valeo’s scheme perfectly fits with fleet sustainability initiatives. Moreover, compared with others available on the market, Valeo’s reman CV clutches are better priced than new clutches and benefit from a better life cycle cost too.
Add O.E. specs and original working conditions into the mix, and Valeo will be offering the market a product that is simply too good to pass up!
Come 2024, Valeo’s CV core deposit scheme plans to do just that!

Valeo’s sustainable approach of the aftermarket

‘I Care 4 The Planet’ is Valeo’s new sustainable strategy for making sure the automotive aftermarket is as environmentally friendly and affordable as possible.

‘I Care 4 The Planet’ is Valeo’s new sustainable strategy for making sure the automotive aftermarket is as environmentally friendly and affordable as possible.

<h2>I Care 4 The Planet</h2>

With the challenge of climate change and a reduction in driver purchasing power, Valeo is more committed than ever to supporting automotive aftermarket professionals in their aim to make the required mobility transformation environmentally friendly and affordable.
With this thought in mind, Valeo Service has put a multifaceted approach into action, entitled I Care 4 the Planet.
These initiatives cover three areas of activity: a product offering (with more and varied refurbished automotive parts), more environmentally friendly packaging, and logistics designed to limit delivery distances.

<h2>Remanufacturing is a great Way 4ward</h2>

An important factor in reducing the automotive aftermarket’s impact on the environment is in creating a more sustainable product portfolio. A reman product reuses, on average, 80% of the material, and according to life-cycle analysis, reduces carbon footprint on average by 50 to 80% in comparison with a new product.
In line with the aim to reach Carbon Neutrality by 2050, Valeo Service has ramped up its efforts in the Reman sector. As of November 2022, Valeo Service had 8,186 references in its European portfolio and, in 2023, will continue launching 500+ references on existing product families. On top of this, new and more technical product families will be released onto the market including the e-compressor, e-drive, and torque convertors, which will sit alongside traditional product categories such as clutches, starters &amp; alternators, and compressors.

<h2>Spreading the Word</h2>

Launching new references alone, however, is of course not enough.
In 2022, in collaboration with their partners, Valeo Service used digital training sessions to successfully teach more than 100,000 automotive industry professionals. These sessions covered pure electrification topics (mild-hybrid technologies and “Basic” level of full electrification), EV associated products (such as Dual Dry Clutches, Dual Wet Clutches, and torque converters), and Reman.
What’s more, Valeo Service has made identifying the Reman alternative for each truck clutch kit simpler than ever before, thanks to its digital tool, “Truck Clutch kit finder”. Frost &amp; Sullivan awarded it the title of European New Product Innovation in 2022.

<h2>Packaged 4 the Future</h2>

The next area of attention I Care 4 the Planet will focus on is the eradication of plastics and the reduction of ink consumption in packaging. These efforts go hand-in-hand with the increasing use of recycled materials, utilizing biodegradable materials, and of course, reducing the amount of packaging used in the first place.

<h2>Logically speaking, Logistics</h2>

The final area I Care 4 the Planet has identified as crucial, going forwards, is that of logistics. Logistics naturally plays an important role in ensuring that goods and services reach customers in a timely and cost-effective manner. But a modern logistics system must also take the environment into account.
First, Valeo Service puts high attention on producing as close as possible to the markets where the products are distributed. In addition, Valeo Service is looking at reducing carbon emissions by developing direct deliveries to customers so as to avoid intermediate steps along the way. This approach is completed by supporting the Reforest Action association: Valeo Service plants a tree for each ton of direct delivery, helping to create a virtuous logistics distribution flow.
This being said, Valeo Servicing isn’t forgetting the small things and also plans to optimize transportation fill rates by consolidating shipments and improving the stackability of products. All of which will greatly reduce tons of CO2 emissions.
I Care 4 the Planet is not just about the big things, but also about dealing in the details. And going forwards, wherever the I Care 4 the Planet logo is seen, aftermarket professionals can be sure that they are working with products which put the environment first.

Valeo and its Italian and Greek customers are taking action to counter the damage caused by wildfires during summer 2021

&nbsp;<h2>Valeo has supported the work of Reforest’Action since 2017</h2>In 2017, Valeo made a commitment to support the work of Reforest’Action, a French B Corp company whose mission is to preserve, restore and create forests worldwide as part of an authentic, sustainable response to the climate emergency and biodiversity loss. Reforest’Action selects forestry projects and supports them financially.&nbsp;Thanks to the contribution of 3,000 companies and 300,000 citizens, Reforest’Action has planted and protected more than 17 million trees in 39 countries since its creation in 2010. For more information, please visit: <a href="https://www.reforestaction.com/">www.reforestaction.com</a> &nbsp;&nbsp;<h2>2021: New Valeo initiatives to support reforestation in Italy and Greece</h2>In the summer of 2021, Italy and Greece were severely hit by various fires affecting tens of thousands of hectares of forest.&nbsp;In response to the devastation caused, we at Valeo decided to launch a challenge aiming at supporting the affected regions in a concrete way that actively involves distributors and workshops.&nbsp;In Italy, for every 100kg of Valeo products ordered in October, November and December 2021, Valeo will plant a tree in Maremma park situated on the Tuscan coast. 10,000 trees are expected to be planted.&nbsp;In Greece, the challenge will run during the same period of time and one tree will be planted in Arona Katerini in Greece’s northeast for every 50kg of Valeo products delivered. A total of 5,000 trees should be planted.&nbsp;<h2>Forest restoration, an act vital to our future</h2>The importance of forests to our collective future cannot be overstated. Not only are they the main land-based carbon sinks, forests are also home to 80% of land-based biodiversity and they support 25% of the world’s population.&nbsp;At Valeo, we want to play an active role in rehabilitating the areas affected by the fires by working in synergy with our customers and workshops to have a substantial impact on the environment.&nbsp;The aim of this project is not only to reforest the affected areas, but to develop local biodiversity by planting different species of trees.&nbsp;In Italy, Maritime Pines, Oaks, and Holm Oaks will be planted across a 65-hectare plot of land in the Grosseto area.&nbsp;In Greece, newly-planted species will include the Hungarian Oak, the Oriental Charm, the Flowering Ash, the Lime Tree, and the Plane Tree, all across a 20,000-hectare plot of land in the Thessaloniki region.&nbsp;These new sustainable forests will enable an increase in biodiversity by creating numerous shelters for wildlife, and will help protect the surrounding areas from natural hazards such as strong winds, floods and landslides.&nbsp;<h2>A concrete illustration of Valeo’s commitment to sustainability</h2>At Valeo, developing technologies that move mobility towards cleaner, smarter and safer solutions is a part of our DNA.&nbsp;Ten years ago, we embraced CO2 emissions reduction as a strategic growth driver and set the goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050. Today, our comprehensive approach to limit the impact of our activities on the environment speaks for itself; our carbon reduction technologies already account for nearly 60% of our revenue stream, and Valeo is currently ranked as the most sustainable company in the automotive sector by all of the leading agencies.
