Lighting and Signaling

Valeo has an extensive range of original quality products at its disposal due to its key position in the Original Equipment market. With the advantage of an international range for right-hand drive and left-hand drive vehicles, including 1,080 part numbers for main headlamps, 120 part numbers for auxiliary headlamps, 250 part numbers for front lamps and 370 part numbers in rear lamps, Valeo regularly extends its ranges and guarantees the availability of parts for new vehicles and new technologies developed for the OE market.
Valeo key benefits:
>> 100% OE high-performance, premium quality products,
>> high car park coverage: almost 1 vehicle in 2 is fitted with Valeo lights or headlamps as Original Equipment,
>> the latest technologies applied to the aftermarket:
• Xenon: the xenon system is characterized by the type of light emitted (resembling daylight) and by the light beams, which are stronger than those of a conventional halogen headlight. It is fitted with an automatic leveling system to maximize headlight efficiency. For dipped beams, integrated cleaning mechanisms ensure continuous cleanliness, allowing for optimized lighting without dazzling oncoming drivers.
• the LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) for the rear lamps are optronic components which emit light by means of a transparent crystal which acts as a semi-conductor when activated by electricity. The time taken for the rear lamps to come on is reduced and allows the driver to anticipate potentially dangerous situations. This reduces the braking distance by 5 meters, for a vehicle travelling behind at 120 km/h.

New technology showcase
Valeo's OE lighting technologies are also highlighted demonstrating the benefits of xenon lights over conventional halogen. For example, xenon technology provides 30% more visibility and reduced power consumption. Variants in this technology include Xenon Dynamic Bending Lights (44% better visibility in corners) available on the Renault Megane II, Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7 and the Xenon bi-function that emits both high and low beams from a single bulb, used on the Audi A4, Citroen C4 and Renault Laguna II.
LED technology is also becoming increasingly popular and Valeo is a front-runner in this burgeoning market. The company supplies the stylish, low consuming, daytime front running light for the Audi A5 as well as the equally stylish equivalent of the rear LED for the Audi A6. The latter can last the equivalent of the vehicle's life, uses less power and saves on weight and space.
Valeo is also responding to increasing vehicle personlisation with the use of adaptive rear lamps - progressive lighting of the rear lamp linked to the driver's brake force. Other technologies featured include Microptics and Light Guide and coloured lens, for that added sporty feel.
