Clutches

One in three vehicles in Europe are fitted with Valeo clutches. With 1,100 part numbers for complete kits and 700 spares part numbers, including the concentric slave cylinder (CSC) and competition clutches, Valeo is continuously developing and extending its range for passenger cars, light utility vehicles, trucks and agricultural tractors. Manufactured in twelve sites across four continents, Valeo clutch parts and kits are distributed in more than 80 countries.

Valeo key benefits:

* a wide range covering 98% of the European car park,

* the latest technologies: dual mass flywheels, flexible flywheels, hydraulic clutches, 4-piece kit specific for the aftermarket,

* high-quality parts originating from technologies developed in the OE market and available for the aftermarket,

* a CD-Rom containing assembly instructions with photo sequences and explanatory diagrams. A program of diagnostics and calculation of fixed price offers completes the information.

* unique packaging that holds the kit under a film and prevents the components from moving. This packaging ensures the protection of the parts during carriage.

The 4-piece kit design includes a regid flywheel - with no wear parts - eliminating the need to replace the whole clutch system in the future. The rigid flywheel durability provides better thermal resistance and full engine and gear box protection. The Valeo reigid flywheel has its key timing slots machined and aligned correctly, which means that there is no risk of poor starting and running once fitted, an issue commonly found on cast flywheels.

In addition to the flywheel, Kit 4P is made up of a long travel damper disc, cover assembly and release bearing. The transmission protection provides full engine and gearbox safety; the Kit 4P closely matches the DMF for mechanical vibration reduction and therefore limits premature wear within the gearbox.

The innovative design of the long travel damper aids driver comfort and can closely simulate the damping performance characteristics of a DMF. Driver experience is enhanced as Kit 4P filters vibration and noise, whilst torque transfer is up at the impressive 100% mark.

Valeo also confidently claims that the kit is as easy and quick to install as alternative clutch systems.

For the aftermarket, Kit 4P is competitively priced, as the product is comparable against high cost DMF and associated kits.

Vehicle coverage is extensive, with the range including the most popular car manufacturers and light commercial vehicles (LCV). Valeo Service has introduced a number of new references this year, such as the Mondeo (2000>2005), VW Golf V (2003>) and Audi A3 (2003>).

New LCV coverage includes the Ford Transit Connect 1.8TDCi, Mercedes Sprinter (various models from 1995>2006) and VW Transporter (7J/7H) (2003>).

The Kit 4P is being installed on traditionally higher mileage vehicles, with the performance characteristics of a fit-and-forget solution over the vehicle's remaining life. Little wonder that European taxi drivers and an increasing number of Ford Transit owners are opting for it instead of a replacement DMF fitted at OEM.
